1917 Founded as Koei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Osaka and started to produce acetic acid (discontinued in 1930)
1926 Changed the company name to Koei Co., Ltd.
1931 Started to produce aceton and butanol by fermentation
1934 Started to produce formalin
1950 Started to produce m-aminophenol
Changed the company name to Koei Chemical Co., Ltd.
1952 Started to produce pentaerythritol
1959 Started to produce trimethylolpropane and formit
1962 Started to produce amines
1963 "Inoue Award" for the production of pentaerythritol
1964 Started to produce pyridine bases
1966 Expanded the fine chemical facility for Amines
1967 "Okochi Memorial Production Prize" for the production of pyridine bases
Opened Chiba Plant and started to produce pentaerythritol
1971 Started to produce formalin, trimethylolpropane, sodium hydrosulfite and amines in Chiba Plant
1972 Started to produce pyridine bases in Chiba Plant
1980 Started to produce chemical body warmers (discontinued in 1999)
1982 Construction of a multi-purpose plant and expanded the fine chemical facility for amines and pyridine bases
1985 Started to produce 2-cyanopyrazine
1986 Started to produce dlazep hydrochloride hydrate (discontinued in 2009)
1987 Certified as GLP by Ministry of International Trade and Industry
1990 "Industrial Technology Award" from the Osaka Industrial Research Association for development of "CASCON-RESIN (functional modified epoxy resins)"
1991 A new GMP plant opened and registered to FDA
1992 "Chemical Technology Award" from the Kinki Chemical Society of Japan for the development of an Anti-Ulcer Drug Intermediate
"Technological Prize" from the Adhesion Society of Japan for epoxy resins adhesives 
1993 Certified as GLP by Ministry of Labor
1995 Construction of a multi-purpose plant in Chiba Plant and started to produce intermediates for pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals
1996 Committed "Responsible Care"
Certified to ISO-9002
Opened Düsseldorf liaison office (-2004)
1997 "Catalysis Society of Japan Award (Industrial Field)" for the synthesis of pyridine using a zeolite catalyst
Listed on the 2nd Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange
Construction of a multi-purpose vapor-phase plant in Chiba Plant
1998 "Chemical Technology Prize" from the Kinki Chemical Society of Japan for the new synthetic method of intermediate chloro nicotinyl insecticide
1999 Certified to ISO 14001 (Osaka Plant, Chiba Plant)
Expanded the liquid-phase reaction plant
Opened New York liaison office (-2003)
2000 Transferred paper and pulp related business to Asahi Chemical Co., Ltd.
2002 Certified to ISO 9001 (whole company)
2003 Relocated Head Office to Joto-ku, Osaka

2004 Started to dispatch our employee to Sumitomo Chemical Europe S.A./N.V.
2006 Relocated headquarters operations to Tokyo Office
Expanded the liquid-phase reaction plant in Chiba Plant
Expanded the vapor-phase reaction plant in Chiba Plant
2010 Opened a new laboratory in Chiba Plant and production and research functions centralized to Chiba Plant
2013 Relocated Tokyo Head Office to the present address
2016 Closedown of Osaka Plant and changed the registered address to Sodegaura-shi, Chiba
2017 Celebration the 100th anniversary
